Born on the cusp: what's your real sign?
Born between two signs? There is a real answer, accurate to the minute.
Born on April 20, July 22 or December 22? Depending on which horoscope you read, you're one sign or the other. Good news: there's a real answer, accurate to the minute.
Understanding the cusp
Why sign dates move every year
Magazine dates are averages. The Sun enters a sign at a precise moment that shifts by about a day depending on the year, calendar and time zone. Two people born on April 20 can therefore have different signs.
What cusp actually means
A cusp is the boundary between two signs or houses. People are called on the cusp when the Sun is in a sign's first or last degrees. At any moment, however, the Sun is in only one sign: there is no hybrid sign.
How to find your real sign
You need your birth date, time and place. A precise Swiss Ephemeris calculation gives the Sun's position to a hundredth of a degree. Without a time, doubt remains if the sign changed that day.
What if I relate to both signs?
That's common and is often explained elsewhere in your chart: an Ascendant, Moon or several planets in the neighboring sign. Your full chart says far more than your Sun sign.
